Door lock, wood, carved in 2 pieces with vertical section featuring a face with coiffure and horizontal section as a crocodile effigy. Carver unrecorded although its pedigree is Bambara (Bamana) tribe of Mali.

Such locks were used to secure grainery doors and protect foodstuffs stored inside from theft.
