Africa, Nigeria Yoruba oshe Shango wand with a supplicant female, kneeling and offering her breasts.

It is particularly well carved with a patina suggesting it was held in high regard by its original owner. Three diamond shaped inscription on the front of the celt.

Acquired from African associate, Abdoul Keita, in 1992. Maker once known. Age estimated by the source as ca.1950s.
