Australian bark-style painting on archival paper, by Eddie Blitner/Roper River/Arnhemland/Oenpelli/ kangaroo, xray style.

Archival paper is substitutes for bark, which is only available when it can be removed from the eucalyptus tree in the wet season.

Acquired personally at Aboriginal Fine Art Gallery, Darwin, NT, Australia, ca.2001

Eddie Blitner was born in 1961 in Naiyalrindji, Ngukkurr Community, Roper River, NT.
Eddie began to paint at about age 7, by watching and listening to his grandfather paint on bark. At age 16, he started painting "Dreamings" from his grandfather. Eddie is also woodcarver.

X-ray style depicts the skeletal framework of the animal. Iy used to teach youngster what part of a kill is most edible.
