Australian Aboriginal artifact, woomera, (spearthrower) carved wood with extensive etching inscribed front and reverse side., tip secured to the thrusting end, gummy substance secured to the handle.
From the collection of Stan Moriarty, Sydney, Australia, following his death in 1978, through Peter Hocking. Acquired by us in 1996. Age estimated at ca. 1950s. This is a genuine piece of indigenous Australian Aboriginal material culture at least 50 years old.
