Hopi Indian Milland Lomakima painting, oil on canvas, "Kachina and wand" Vibrant coloration.
Acquired in 1983 at the Hopi Silvercraft Cooperative Guild , Second Mesa, AZ. The artist (Lomakima) was the manager of the cooperative at or about the time this painting was created, (1979) according to hand-written legend on the reverse side of the canvas. Also titled as “Kachina and Wand” on the reverse. Also signed on the face with the artist’s Hopi name in the lower right-hand corner.
We often lodged at the Hopi Cultural Center when on buying trips to Hopiland. #AGW330 ~20” x 15”.
