Navajo sculpture figurative eagle in alabaster on wood base. AGDi52 8" x 5"
This sculpture employs white and orange alabaster to represent an eagle. It is mounted on a wood base. The body of the subject, which is white with concave carving, hosts a centered specimen of orange alabaster. The artist’s initials, “GW”, are inscribed where the eagle is attached to the wood base. The work stands 8” tall and 5” at its widest point. We acquired it at a long-established trader of Native America art in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 2006. The signature includes dating at ‘02.
